Many know of Edgar Allan Poe, but the one thing that no one knows is why and how he died. Edgar Allan Poe was a famous, gothic, poet in the 1800’s. He was known as the Father of the American Gothic Movement. He had many issues, including alcoholism, alleged substance abuse, and a rough love life. Because of this, many people have thought of many different causes of his death. Some think of intoxication and withdrawal, some think that one of his many enemies that he made was behind his death. Not many have thought of a certain theory that should be considered. According to thecollector.org, in many cases, it is common for the aliens to take blood samples. Poe had a pale complexion when in the hospital, likely because of the stolen blood samples. It is also known that he was in an “excitable” state when anyone tried to visit him in his hospital room. A cause for this could be the memories from the experimentation of the aliens, as some cases have said that they were also in a hospital-like room after being abducted by the aliens. Lastly, the astronomical activity around this time could have played a role in this. According to spacereference.org, around this time, an asteroid was discovered in April or May of 1849. This asteroid is known as 10 Hygiea, and could be a possible home for the alleged aliens. 10. Hygiea is about the size of the U.S. state of Iowa.
