Many know of Edgar Allan Poe, but the one thing that no one knows is why and how he died. Edgar Allan Poe was a famous, gothic, poet in the 1800’s. He was known as the Father of the American Gothic Movement. He had many issues, including alcoholism, alleged substance abuse, and a rough love life. Because of this, many people have thought of many different causes of his death. Some think of intoxication and withdrawal, some think that one of his many enemies that he made was behind his death. Not many have thought of a certain theory that should be considered. It is also known that he was in an “excitable” state when anyone tried to visit him in his hospital room.
