Throughout my educational years, I have had little experience as an editor. Some editing involvement that I have partaken in has been my own compositions for particular courses throughout high school and college. However, with the minimal experience that I’ve undergone, I have made an effort to use the complete knowledge that previous educators have provided me with. In my university years, I’ve come to recognize that I take deep pride in meticulously editing my personal work, revising every sentence and punctuation mark. Amongst my peers, I am most commonly approached when a colleague is interested in having their essay or research paper reviewed and corrected.

Labor can be overwhelming when there is an absence of desire. Alternatively, when you discover happiness in your work, you produce better results. Rather than seeing editing as a mere task, it becomes a service of love when there is an inspiration. I’m concerned that it will be a stretch for me in the beginning to adapt to a different genre that I am not relatively acquainted with; nonetheless, the diversity in our classroom gives me the impression that I will encounter a personal challenge that can allow me to mature as a writer and an editor. I’d be keen on expanding my knowledge on different writing styles and different audience members, rather than the scholastic aspect that I am accustomed to. Reaching outside of my comfort level, I may be able to someday connect with more readers that could develop a fondness for my
