Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” I believe that it is very important to use your education to make an impact on the world, which is developed through scholarship. While I do demonstrate all of the pillars of the National Honor Society, the one that I most exemplify is scholarship. Throughout my grade school years, I have shown scholarship. One example of me demonstrating scholarship is when I received the “Summa Cum Laude” award at my middle school four years in a row. This is award is given to people with a GPA of 3.75 or above. Another example of me demonstrating scholarship was when I was on the honor roll for all four years at my middle school. Furthermore, when I was in seventh grade I participated in the Duke TIP program. Through this program, I took the ACT that year. Also, my grades during middle school were extremely high. I earned A’s in every single class during my middle school years except for one class, which was Geometry. In that class, I missed getting an A by .01 of a point. One example of me showing scholarship during my time at Mount Michael was my GPA during my freshman year. I earned a 4.0 GPA. Also, I have been on the Dean’s list every year that I have been at Mount Michael. Moreover, during this year, I participated in Academic Decathlon, and, at the scrimmage in Lincoln, I medaled in two of the three categories. I got a silver medal and a bronze medal. This was huge for me because I was competing against high schoolers in the honors category, which includes people with a 3.75 GPA or above. I was also competing against sophomores, juniors, and seniors. So far, Mount Michael has been very challenging for me, and it has only improved my ability to demonstrate
