Education Philosophy Statement I believe that education serves a purpose to make children more knowledgeable. Gaining knowledge not only in subject matter but also how to function in society. I want to be a teacher of many philosophical ways of thinking. I do not want to be too narrow-minded while educating 30 different minds. Not everyone learns the same way, but this is what makes a teacher's job difficult. It is my job to make sure all my students' learn not only subject matter but also how to function in today’s world.
We, as teachers, must question everything our students say. This is a great way to make them realize they actually know the answer and how they know it. They need to be able to think for themselves, form an opinion. This …show more content…

I would remember the information for the test and then it all left my brain. On the other hand, some teachers make sure the students absorb the information. Making sure their students keep the knowledge filed forever. This can always be done by a fun lesson plan. As a student, I learned prepositions by singing a song, science material through fun labs, and history material by doing a wax museum. Students master the material better when teachers go the extra mile with lesson plans. This creates a great alternative to sitting and reading a textbook. With this method, they put the standards to use. I am not saying that I will not have tests. I am simply saying that my way of teaching will be through projects, experiments, songs and other fun activities. This way the students will remember the material forever. I understand that I will be teaching young children. Being an easy translation to, I know seven year olds don’t want to listen to someone lecture facts. Through these fun lesson plans, I would be able to give them an interest in all subjects. They would not even realize they are learning, thus so discover that they love to learn.
