During the 2016-2017 school year, I participated in an educational leadership internship. Within this internship, I have been able to have many leadership experiences. Organizing bus evacuations and stepping in as acting testing coordinator are a few opportunities that I have lead. Organizing / conducting bus evacuations was a success. First, I rearrange my schedule to ensure that I could speak with each bus driver individually. The bus drivers and I discussed how two evacuations could be accommodated within two weeks. Then, I create a schedule and disseminated it to all staff members. In order to provide staff assistance during this time, five of the six evacuations were scheduled for the same day. Four of the six evacuations went exactly as planned. Unfortunately, one bus was 20 minutes late two consecutive days. Due to this tardiness, the bus was unable to stay for the evacuations. After a discussion with the transportation office, the third time was the charm. The bus arrived on time and the students completed both the side door / rear door evacuations. There were two assessments and a survey that needed to me completed (OLSAT, FFT (Teacher Survey), MAP-R). First was the FFT teacher surveys. There were 167 surveys to be conducted. Thus, I rounded up a team of individuals that had opportunity and the willingness to assist. This team consisted of the ESOL teacher, Guidance Counselor, and I. Then we created a plan that incorporated the surveys into the Guidance Counselor’s schedule. The ESOL teacher and I assisted between our regular groups. We completed the surveys with make-ups within a week and a half. The surveys were completed, organized and ready for pick up prior to the
