Having a measurable assessment is crucial to assessing your students' performance (as discussed in prior courses). However, knowing the need of the assessment will establish its importance in your class and will be a constant reminder to you and your students on why you give assessments and why they are important to your students.
My desire to become a school counselor is part of what has driven me to become a teacher. As a teacher, and eventually a counselor, I want to instill hope in children at an early age. As an at-risk child, my elementary teachers provided me with the stability and confidence that I desperately needed. The structure of my teachers’ classrooms and the routines that we followed, helped me feel I was in a secure environment.
