Abstract The global garment industry, worth more than $400 billion dollars today, is a very lucrative industry. Garment factories in developing countries working for retailers in developed ones shows how efficiency is increased and every party can benefit through outsourcing of labour from developed countries; retailers and consumers get clothes at cheaper prices while employment is provided to areas plagued with poverty. However, it is evident that many of these garment factories are sweatshops, which are factories and businesses that violates local or international labour laws, such as providing workers with atrocious working conditions, providing minimal compensation or even employing child labour. Like it or not, many of our clothes does not come ethically and they have probably encouraged labour exploitation in one way or another.
Growing up her family was poor and often evicted from homes. When she grew up my mom decided that she had to work hard to get into college so that she could get a job and live well. Because of her I understand how important an education is. In 5th grade I was put into a program called PEP for “gifted students” and learned many things
On top of that, she was able to pursue her dreams. She got her bachelor's degree in teaching and is now a teacher at a charter school in NYC. She has inspired me and showed me that hard work really does pay off. Another person who shows me that in order to get ahead in life is through hard work is my grandma. My grandma is a woman who came to this country to make life better for her ten children.
My mother has inspired me to give back to my community, and always to help my neighbor. What makes volunteering so special to me is that I have such a tremendous impact on someone else’s life by doing something that is so straightforward. Also, as senior class president, I am a leader and is counted upon by many. Mainly, my mother has made me the person I am today. She credits these characteristics to the excellent education she has received at The Pennsylvania State University.
As an educator, I believe it is my job to inspire all students to acquire knowledge, be successful, and do their best by making learning interesting and engaging. I will do this by incorporating differentiated instruction to meet every students learning style. I also need to create a successful learning environment, by making my classroom safe and welcoming for all students. I will do so by implementing procedures and routines that will allow the class to run smoothly for everyone. I also believe that having a positive environment will affect the attitude of the students, as well as their learning.
My philosophy is that young children learn best when given the right tools and resources to stimulate their minds in an environment that promotes and implements Developmentally Appropriate Practices. When families are confident with their decision in choosing what environment their child’s education takes place when giving the opportunity and invitation they will participate to a capacity in their child’s education process. Studies have shown that parents that are highly involved in their child’s education process are more likely to be confident and succeed; furthermore I firmly believe that parents should be incorporated into their child’s education and learning experience. As an educator, I am blessed to be able to witness and experience the wonder of learning on a daily basis. Schools are learning organizations, and successful principals, teachers and students are always looking for ways to improve their own learning. I believe that everyone within a school community is a learner first and foremost, and that it is the learning process which allows schools to achieve their mission. Just as individuals within the community must seek to improve their practice, schools should have structures in place to review their progress and implement changes that are meant to improve learning. A few days before graduating high school my English teacher wrote me the following note. “Matthew, you are a leader whether you like it or not. I know you are uncomfortable with this role at times and overwhelmed. However, being a leader also means being able to say no. As my mother told me when I was young no is another way saying I care about you and myself. Remember where your feet are located that is where you are suppose to be.
Goals and Philosophy The goals of my research program are as follows: • Develop a diverse and productive research program based on psychological principles. • Provide a strong scientific basis for the utilization of psychological standards and research methods to repair ensuing problems in the working environment and enhance personal satisfaction. • Work at training graduate and undergraduate students in research and study workplace productivity, management, and employee working styles. This will introduce methods to improve the morale, and personality of the personnel for a company or organization.
I believe that an education is a student’s most valuable asset in achieving a successful future. An education is a lifelong gift and should never be compromised. As a committed teacher, it is my job to provide the best education for my students. I will share my passion for learning and growth, inspiring my students to want to learn and grow themselves. I will lead by example, instilling the knowledge, compassion, desire and willingness to learn.
When I was in the third grade I was told to paint a picture of what we wanted to be when we were older. I drew myself as a teacher. One of the reasons that I wanted to be a teacher was so I could help others, mostly children. Although I do not want to be a teacher anymore, I do hold on to the desire of helping others, in which I now was to major in Psychology. Growing up, I lived with my grandparents and my parents divorced and out of the house.
There have been a lot of experiences, and events in my life that have impacted me for my future in a positive way. One such experience is my current job as a Pastor at my church. In the fall of 2014, I was blessed with the opportunity of taking the position of being the Children’s Pastor at my home church, Pueblo Christian Center. I prayed about it for a couple of weeks before taking the position, and I really felt like the Lord was telling me to take it. It has been instrumental in helping me develop my passion, and goals.
According to the guidelines that have been established by Cleveland State University’s American Association of University Professor’s (AAUP’s) contract, 2016, promotion to the rank of clinical assistant professor shall be based on evidence of excellence in teaching and clinical supervision. In this teaching statement, I provide the rationale and evidence to demonstrate that I have modeled excellence in teaching and clinical supervision for my students. Background I began my career as a physical therapist in 2001 after graduating from The Ohio State University.
Over the previous century, education has turned into the most basic to the advancement of an educated society, enlarging openings and impacting individuals ' points of view on any society of Maldives. The opportunity of education in any society or any country is extensive and highly valued. To seek education people are making significant and personal investments across the world. However, we do not have a common understanding of the actual goal of education. Different scholars have a different perspective on education based on their experiences and it is a wide idea which can be characterized in different ways as education is one of the most important and influential basic need of every human being.
Teaching philosophy is described by Sadker and Sadker as, “Behind every school and every teacher is a set of related beliefs - a philosophy of education – that influences what and how students are taught. A philosophy of education represents answers to questions about the purpose of schooling, a teacher’s role and what should be taught and by what methods.” (Teacher, Schools and Society. 2005). With this definition in consideration, my teaching philosophy is “I believe that children learn best when they are given the chance to choose, discuss and explore what they want to learn, when they want to learn and how they want to learn.
