As a teacher, I believe that the students of today are our greatest investment. My goal is to provide every one of my students with an education adapted to fit their individual needs and engage them with relevant and authentic activities and materials. I strive to advocate for my students, encourage my students, communicate and collaborate with their support systems, inspire them to be independent thinkers and learners and continue to develop my knowledge of technology and current teaching practices. I believe it is my duty to help all students realize the potential they possess, as well as nurture, and utilize their talents in the hope of being active, educated, and participating members of society.

Offering students a variety of ways to show me they understand the material is the goal of assessments in my classroom. I want my students to be able to use the English language to communicate meaningfully with each other and the world around them, whether it be through giving someone directions on the street, writing a paper in secondary school, posting to Twitter, or writing a letter to their friend. I believe that learning another language will not only open the door to thousands of opportunities for my students, but will also help shape more culturally competent and global-minded citizens. The world we live in is a diverse place, rich with languages, cultures, and peoples. It is my responsibility and passion as an educator, to inspire my students to take a chance to learn something new and interesting about the people and cultures around them and expose them to what the world has to
