The comparison Between Edward Bloom and Colonel Freeleigh Colonel Freeleigh is an old veteran, whose body is failing him. When the kids come to visit him, the tells them stories about the famous magician who died from a fatal gunshot to the face. Just like Will’s wife, they listened and believed their stories.
