An effective leader is one who comes up with a development plan for success. This may include a professional plan for improvement and personal plan for growth (Cacioppe, 1998). As a leader, this paper seeks to highlight my strengths and weaknesses, determine the areas required for improvement and identify the skills of leadership, which I will employ in becoming an effective leader. I can identify several areas where my strengths lie. For example, I am a very organized person. An effective leader must embrace organization as a fundamental aspect of his or her leadership style. Following a to-do-list has made it easier for me to manage my day by clearly identifying the tasks that require completion for the day (Suzuki, 2004). In the provision of clear instructions on the tasks that should be carried out for the day, my employees will be able to look up to me. Through such organization, the duties and goals will be kept in line. I will use a similar kind of structure in the entity that I will be leading.
