I. Introduction The land of Asia has been contacting its local histories with the western world through long centuries of colonization. Since the start of the 15th century, the time when Portuguese was the first to travel on undiscovered continents thus, met Asia. New trading routes for Europe revealed and created an enormous lead for further expansion of western imperialism. Though, it was doubtful enough to see waves of European colonizers came except France. France, however, made a choice less journey to establish its superiority over the vacant region of Indochina. Being a latecomer disgraced the sentiments of French domination on its colonies. The French existence on Indochina territory helped nothing but tragic legacy of aggressiveness toward local people’s intention. The quick implementations of French colonizer delivered an enquiry of what reason behind French aggressive colonization. II. French Aggressively Colonized Indochina At first, French was not interested in Indochina. However, it came to pay more attention and later colonized it due to three main reasons. Firstly, the French lost its major colonies and prestige. Like other colonizers, French needed to expand its empire.
