Marginalization has many different effects on people. It helps to shape a person. It also is all based off of people being isolated or thought less of and left out. In the novel, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Lennie is a man with the mind of a child. When Lennie was born slow meaning when he was born he couldn’t remember anything that would happen and it would take him a long time to process things. George is Lennie’s friend that has to take care of him because of his disability, and whenever Lennie would start to get into trouble George would get him out of it. Lennie was scared and worried in the barn. He was sitting around when Curley’s wife came in and they started talking. Later on they started talking about liking soft thing and Curley’s wife told Lennie to feel her hair; she jerked away and he continued to hold on. She started to scream and he got scared made her be quiet and shook her to death. “‘All right, you guys,’ he said. ‘The nigger’s got a shotgun. You take it, Carlson. When you see ‘um, don’t give ‘im no chance. Shoot for his guts. That’ll double ‘im over’”(97). It as fate that they found Curley’s wife dead because now they have to kill Lennie. It is also fate because Lennie must die and that’s all because he keeps making George stay on the run and fix all his problems. Then, mentioned in the previous paragraph it was George’s fate to kill Lennie. “The hand shook violently, but his face set and his hand stedied. He pulled the trigger”(106). It was George’s fate to kill Lennie because Lennie kept causing problems and forcing them to run and find places to work. Moreover, It was George’s fate to kill Lennie because he killed Curley’s wife, left her, and then ran and hid, but he has also caused so many little problems and big problems that George just said I have to do it I have to kill him. This is why it was George’s fate to kill
