Over the course of the Vietnam War many people had felt that the longer the war went on the worse it would look for the United States and it proved to be true. This feeling culminated in the Tet Offensive of 1968 in which it was revealed to the American public that the war wasn’t going the way the Johnson Administration or the military claimed. The events of this battle in the Vietnam War led to further divisions within the U.S. When you look at the Tet Offensive and the long term effects of it, yes it was a military victory, but in the long run it was a loss because when it was all said and done all of Vietnam became a communist government.
