The Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilization were the raising powers of Southwest Asia, which was conveniently along the Nile River. Both of these civilizations had different cultural and economic development structures. However, the accomplishments and contribution from these civilization paved the way for other societies to functions in a civilized manner, The Mesopotamian civilizations was the first to enforce its will through laws and taxes. They also established bureaucracies which was backed up by armed forces or treats of it. This civilization established larger populations, the growth of cites, and a division of labor by creating an irrigation system that flow water from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers for sustainable agricultural developments. …show more content…

The Egyptians used the Nile River as a base for fertile and productive agricultural developments which was instrumental for population prosperity and growth. The Egyptian civilization heavily depended on the Nile River in order to maintain crop growth for the peasants and farmers to continue a food turnover. This Egyptians strongly believed that because of the social pyramids, their civilization was organized and kept with their pharaohs on top and then the government officials. Some of the most important figures were government officials known as the Viziers, generals of armies, and treasurer chiefs. Pharaohs in the Egyptians civilization were consider gods and the Egyptians worship many gods compare to the Mesopotamians. We see pictures of pyramids and wonder, what a majestic piece of work. However, those pyramids were actually tombs for death powerful Pharaohs. These tombs were filled with all the things that a king might need in the afterlife and was also a symbolization of the connections and power with sun-god. Just like the Mesopotamians civilization, the Egyptians were an agricultural civilization. The Pharaohs will make all the laws and regulations while the slaves do all the seeding and harvesting. The Egyptians were masters and instrumental with their contributions in today’s world and was responsible for how societies and cultural developed to this point.
