Born in December 25, 1954 into a poor family and abusive father. El Chapo would later rise to become one of the most biggest narcotics traffickers in the world. Before his captures the Criminal Justice system failed to work letting mass amount of drugs to be entered in many different countries. Not only that but the authorities turning a blind eye of the horrendous acts El Chapo and his Sinaloa cartel ran. For 20 plus years the Sinaloa cartel was able to operate while the justice system failed. The first time he was captured you can say the Criminal Justice system was finally at work. But shortly after his first capture the con artist was able to escape jail and flee from jail. Then he was once again apprehended by the Mexican authorities and placed in jail once more. Yet again he was he was able to escape from jail with a mile tunnel underneath his cell. Finally, for the last time authorities were able to recapture him and extradite him to the United States. This move was great move by the system the two governments worked together and cooperated properly for this to happen. El Chapo is a man with a lot of power and reputation in Mexico. If he was to be sentenced and put in jail again in Mexico he might have be able to get away. El Chapo now sits in a high secured jail cell in New York as he awaits his upcoming trial. Even though he is caught and faces charges the drug trafficking will continue. It's like cutting the head off a hydra it grows multiple more after. This case is similar to Pablo Escobar the only thing different was the country. The justice system should have learned from this and handled this case with El Chapo much differently. Some solutions to handle similar cases in the future could be tighter security around borders, more government and local cooperation, harsher laws and punishments for all types of
