Throughout the novel-That Eye The Sky, written by Tim Winton, it explores spirituality. The novel uses various first person techniques such as symbolism, imagery and of course characterisation. Morton Flack which is the narrator and the protagonist of the film has a strong connection with spiritualty although he does not fully understand what that is or why he can see and hear things that others can not. It becomes obvious from early in the novel that Ort’s life revolves around his family. The relationship the Flack family has with each other dynamically shifts after Sam ( Ort’s dad) has a terrible car accident.
Art is not nearly as well rounded nowadays as it was in the renaissance. For example the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da vinci was an exceptional painting that had tons of detail such as the the ripples in her sleeves and the curls in her hair( doc. a). This painting shows that this was a happy point in time because she is smiling in the portrait(doc. a).
One way paintings demonstrate this is the difference between the Mona Lisa and Madonna Enthroned Between Two Angels. The older painting, Madonna Enthroned Between Two Angles, is unrealistic and has rather depressing dark colors. While the Renaissance painting, the Mona Lisa, is not only much more realistic, but also a lot more cheerful, brighter feel, and became a true masterpiece (Doc A). In the paintings, the fact the Renaissance painting is brighter, more realistic and a famous masterpiece, shows that the Renaissance changed the art style into a unique, amazing representation that changed the entire future of art. The paintings from the Renaissance showed that people saw each other differently than before( Doc A).
In the Renaissance, the world changed forever. New thinking about humans being the most significant rather than religious figures would have been unheard of in the Middle Ages, but now in this new period, the world has begun to accept this. These new ideas led to them being present in art, leading to a new beginning for art. In “The Last Days of the Renaissance & The March to Modernity” by Theodore Rabb, he discovers that what occurred in the Renaissance changed art permanently. I believe that all of these people were amazing artists, but Leonardo was the most significant artist of his time.

For example, Protagoras said “Man is the measure of all things.” By creating exceptionally fine art, artists and philosophers found a way to detail the feature of human beings themselves. For instance, Michelangelo’s sculpture, David, was a mastepiece difficult to imitate even today, showing surprising details of a sturdy man. Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, still leaving mysteries, today, particularly highlights the characteristics of people of different emotions.
While reading “The Trouble with (the Term) Art,” written by Carolyn Dean in the summer of 2006, we are taken through an array of different scenarios that lead us to questions what art really is. Dean explores the idea that the word “art” is used far too often and too habitually, and that as we study the non-Western cultures we need to use much more discretion regarding what we call the different pieces of their culture. Throughout the essay, Dean supports her thesis that we too often categorize non-Western pieces as art by using different examples of how certain non-art pieces were deemed as art throughout the course of their history. Dean does this by using four key examples of how these ancient pieces are inappropriately called art to successfully support her thesis and avoid biases.

Much like the Olympians from ancient mythology, Renaissance artists are regarded as gods. They revolutionized the art world, reviving themes and styles derived from the Ancient Greeks and Romans. The style they created completely contrasted with that of its predecessor, International Gothic. But how did this “Rebirth” come about? There are many answers to this question, but much of it lies in patriotism and civic values, especially in sculpture.
Another thing that changed my mind was how willing some of these men were to sacrifice their lives for the artwork, like the disgraced British man sacrificing himself to try and save the Madonna. Afterward, Stokes is asked by President Truman if he thought the Madonna was worth his life, and he resolutely said that it was worth it, making a clear case for this line of reasoning. If one person is willing to risk their life for a piece of art, than obviously it is worth the value of their own life in that person’s eyes, like the First Lady saving original portraits of past Presidents from burning during the War of 1812. The examples listed paint a very clear picture that if a piece of artwork is worth risking a life over, than it can be worth a human
That is to say, not everyone can relate to a specific work of art on everything but there are always plenty more of them for they to appreciate and relate to themselves. Moreover, everything in this world is related to each other and art is one of them. Which proved the point that art is essential in building a successful country.
