The Framers of the United States Constitution incorporated a number of significant features. Examples of significant features include the Electoral College, and the Roles of the President. Both of these features were incorporated into the United States Constitution and still have an importance today. The Electoral College is a feature incorporated within the U.S. Constitution and it’s mentioned in Article II of the Constitution. The electoral college consists of 538 electors but only 270 electoral votes are needed to become President. Once the candidate receives these electoral votes, the popular vote won’t have any effect regardless even if the other candidate has more popular votes than electoral votes. Constitution because the President doesn’t just sit there, in fact the President has seven roles. These roles include: Chief Legislator, Head of Political Party, Chief Executive, Chief Guardian of the Economy, Chief of State, Chief Diplomat, and Commander in Chief. As Chief Legislator the President can influence Congress and encourage them to pass certain bills and as Head of Political Party the president helps those in his or her party to move up. As Chief Executive the president chooses how laws will be enforced; it’s also known as “The Boss”. Another role says that the President is to help the economy work efficiently, this role is known as the Chief Guardian of the Economy. As Chief of State the President is known as the symbol of the United States, in other words the President has to become popular in the eyes of the public. The President also has the role of Chief Diplomat which says that the President can now decide what ambassadors will say to other Governments; and the last role of the President is Commander in Chief, also known as head of military. As Commander in Chief the President is in charge of our military. These roles are incorporated within the U.S. Constitution because it shows that the President has to do a lot more than we think, which gives them a sense of responsibility. Today this feature is used to keep things in order and keep everything running
