Video Game Production As the main source of Electronic Arts’ profit, their video game production and performance is the figurehead of their financial potential. Projected Yearly Releases. Electronic Arts (EA) is the industry’s most diverse provider of sports related videogames. Annually, they plan to provide new virtual experiences in the sports of basketball, football, golf, hockey, and soccer. This is unique, as EA is one of the few companies to release such a high amount of games every year. Also, with these sports games come a plethora of loyal fans. The Stock Exchange. When looking at EA’s stock, it just seems to be continuously on the rise. According to CNN, the stock is currently running at roughly $66.00 and up a massive 311.42% from five years ago (CNN, 2015). EA provides an investment calculator on their website. After entering an investment of $1,000 just five years ago today, that investment is now worth $4,438.36. The invested amount has multiplied by almost four and a half times in just five years. EA stocks are more valuable than ever and continue to be on the rise. Competition. EA receives competition from other major gaming companies. First, they receive a majority of their competition for their first-person shooter series through a company called Activision Blizzard Incorporated who is known for Call of Duty. On the other hand, as for their sports games, they receive the majority of their competition from Take-Two Interactive Software Incorporated, the makers of the 2K series. When utilizing CNN charts, it can be seen that each of the three companies had positive stock growth in the past year.
