Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a very interesting book, it’s about the future where reading books are not allowed. If you were caught with books in your house you’ll get a visit from the firemen who come in your house and mess everything up to find your books and set them on fire. After your books are set on fire you get sent to prison for breaking the law. In Fahrenheit 451 the author is warning the readers that one day there aren’t going to be any books to read because everyone is going to be living with a screen in front of their faces. No one is going to be able to live with out a T.V. screen or any electronic device.
Technology hinders people's face to face interactions. We see this in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 and in our society, shown in phys.org’s article. The people in Fahrenheit 45, especially seen with Mildred, do not interact with each other and would rather immerse themselves in technology. “Will you turn the parlor off? he asked.
Technology rules the 21st century. Phones and appliances are what this world is made up of, that’s where the money is. In the book Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury shows how the government uses technology to censor their citizens. Like Mildred’s tvs or technology has always been there for her so she calls the parlor walls her family.
Ray Bradbury’s message in Fahrenheit 451 is that an obsessive use of technology takes away a person’s true humanity, turning them into their own robots. In Fahrenheit 451, technology takes over the lives of the characters. Throughout the novel, the society obsessively uses technology instead of socializing with each other. The society barely communicates with each other, which Montag is surprised to hear about. Clarisse tells him, “‘People don't talk about anything.’
In Fahrenheit 451, technology, violence and distractions are used as a warning to society. First of all, technology is constantly around their society and is getting better. If this happens to our society many would not be engaged with their life Secondly, in the book distractions are created to create a better society, but this creates emotion to be fake. This could change society drastically now days .
Fahrenheit 451 is a story written in a future society that is totally consumed in the false media and loses all sense of reality. This story highlights the dangers of the future and over use of technology in our society: Ray Budary is trying to get across that censorship and conformity makes society lazy, knowledge and imagination is important for growth of a society and technology can be a double edged sword. The society Ray Bradury is writing about has a set of very strict laws. The members are sensitized by not being allowed to access books and gain knowledge about the past.
Technology impacts society and individual relationships by making it harder for people to communicate and have relationships by distracting people from having conversations with one another which leads to people losing relationships. This is seen in Fahrenheit 451 when Montag had finished his shift he came home to Mildred and noticed, “in her ears the little Seashells, the thimble radios tamped tight…” (Bradbury 10). The Seashells in Mildred’s ears distracted her from her husband and made it harder for Montag to talk to her which led to them becoming distant. Also, in the TED talk with Sherry Turkle, she says, “People text or do email during corporate board meetings.
The Threats of Technology In today’s society, technology is a very useful tool that is used all over the world. However, in the novel, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, technology is used as a control over citizens. The dystopian fiction is about a man named Guy Montag who is a fireman in the town. During the time in the book, firemen burn books, because they are considered “evil.”
The habitual use of technology was the lifestyle norm in Ray Bradbury’s novel and embodies a strong resemblance to today’s society. Rather than using media as an entertainment source, citizens in Montag's society uncontrollably abuse it and have let it consume their lives. The ability to socialize has been replaced by mindless and unprincipled behavior as portrayed by those addicted to technology. Citizens who have chosen a life without technology, display characteristics of a more purposeful and humane life. Ray Bradbury, the author of the Fahrenheit 451, provides a clear message about technology’s dangers and demonstrates how those who are cured from it live a more meaningful life.
Technology Can be Just as Dangerous as Fire In the novel, Fahrenheit 451,written by Ray Bradbury, the author explains how dangerous technology can be when it is used as a substitution for knowledge. The government in use technology to hide behind, while society doesn’t understand how bad of a world they are living in. Technology can be so addicting that it cause the inability to connect with other people in society.
Fahrenheit 451 and The Veldt were written by Ray Bradbury in the 1950s, in an era when the United States was experiencing economic, technical, and social changes. Both of these works have the theme of the negative impact of technology. Bradbury has written both of these books to bring awareness to the fact that technology has a negative impact on communication with people. In Fahrenheit 451 technology has made people unable to think for themselves.
In today’s society, technology plays a very important role in its ability to function, it helps people find information, communicate with others far away and provides entertainment. In “Fahrenheit 451”, a book written by Ray Bradbury, a dystopian future where books have been made illegal is presented. In the article, “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” by Nicholas Carr, raises many questions about technology and its effects on society. It’s quite evident that we have become quite dependent on technology due to our overconsumption of it.
Is our society starting to parallel the one shown in Ray Bradbury’s dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451? The book was written in 1953; however the setting takes place in Bradbury's predicted future. Throughout the novel about the firemen who burn books instead of reading them, Bradbury writes about his fears of the future while talking about the consequences of advanced technology. He shows how swift technology has enabled the citizens to constantly move about, and try to accomplish everything. However, this creates a certain speed in their life that also has its consequences.

Prophecy. A word one rarely uses outside of biblical terminology. A word one would not associate with the works Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, yet a term that fits aptly with both novels. To prophesy, as the Webster Dictionary so nicely puts it, means "to predict with assurance...", which is exactly what both authors, George Orwell and Ray Bradbury did through their works. Some might argue that both novels were reflections of the times, or eras, that both authors lived in, and that is a correct assumption.
