Elie’s Relationship With His Father Elie and his father have a strong relationship throughout the memoir. Every time they are placed in a tough situation, they manage to get through it with each others help. Elie would have most likely died if his father was not with him. Shlomo, Elie’s father, was the treasure at the end of the map that Elie was looking for. Elie was not planning on giving this treasure up any time soon. They have survived together, and they have made an even bigger connection than before. Elie and Shlomo made very important life decisions for each other during this time.
