Have people ever assumed someone’s personality, but then later figured out that they were completely wrong? Many people tend to be very judgmental of others, even when they may not know many things about them. Not attempting to see the “big picture” of someone’s life can limit people’s judgements to only small the interactions that they had with those people. This can be seen in Pride and Prejudice through the character Elizabeth Bennet. Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice makes incorrect judgments about other people because her judgements are instantaneous; she makes immediate judgements about other people based on brief or superficial experience with those people, rather than on long experience and careful consideration. The first example why Elizabeth judges people too rashly is because she believed Mr. Darcy was too prideful when she first met him at the town ball.
