First Female Doctor Elizabeth Blackwell was an amazing leader. She was not only the first female doctor but she was also an educator. Elizabeth Blackwell was born in Bristol, England on February 3, 1821. She studied at Geneva Medical College, and became a doctor, educator, and an author. Elizabeth Blackwell was a remarkable doctor even though most of the men at the college she attended were doubting most of the intentions she had of becoming a doctor.
