“The Crucible” told by Arthur Miller, is a play that is based off a real life situation about witch trials. It takes place in Salem Massachusetts, 1962. During this period there were over one hundred people being put in jail and about twenty more being executed for being suspected of witchcraft. At the beginning of the play, Tituba and the girls were in the woods, dancing around the fire. They were all suspects for witchcraft. Abigail swore that they were not doing anything other than dancing and singing in the woods. Mary Warren and John Proctor have a discussion about Abigail.
