A servant leader is someone who devotes themselves to serving the needs of everyone. Servant leaders listen and put themselves in a place to do what's best. In our world, servant leaders are very important because they make us stronger by healing us. Servant leaders want to make the injured healed. In 1997 she ran for president in the general elections in Liberia. Throughout her adult years, she would take over anything and do what she felt was her duty. Truly all her work paid off since on January 16th, 2006 was a day to remember as she became the first elected black women head of state. She also became the 24th president of Liberia. As president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf showed her incredible efforts to bring back essential services like electricity and water, she also encouraged peace in Liberia. Johnson Sirleaf has proven herself to be precise for taking her time to think twice about the decisions being made in Liberia. She also made a big impression on women around the world, she believed all women should have the same opportunities as men. She wanted women everywhere to show their talents and shine best in their way. For that reason that is why Johnson Sirleaf and three other recipients won The Nobel Peace Prize in 2011.
