Music has changed and developed throughout time; Elvis Presley however, is known to have established Rock ‘n’ Roll. Elvis Presley started his career in the late 1950’s. Some other artists from the 1950’s were: Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and others. Each artist had a different way of performing. Some instruments and characteristics that were used to produce rock & roll were the singer(s), guitars, drums, horns, keyboards, and an orchestra. Elvis Presley was born on January 8th, 1935 in Mississippi, growing up he worked many jobs while also wanting to pursue as a musician (Biography.com, 2015, para.1). He was very dedicated to reach his goals and start his life. His first recorded song was known as, “That’s all Right” in 1954 (Biography.com, 2015. para.5). With his first single he started gaining more fans and became popular; within time, Elvis was known to have established Rock ‘n’ Roll. Elvis had some crazy/sexy hip moves where he was referred to as “Elvis The Pelvis” (Biography.com, 2015, para.8). The youth culture was very inspired by Elvis. Elvis also had the intention to break barriers, he made black music flow in and be accepted with white music (Graceland, 2017, para. 3). With Elvis bringing in both different perspectives and races was a significantly change to history. Graceland (2017) concluded that, the year 1955 Elvis signed with RCA Victor Records and started producing more music (para. 3). The same year (1955) Elvis released an album which made it to Number 1 as well as the single from that album Heartbreak Hotel (para. 3). Although Elvis was passionate about his musician career he was also an actor and had a successful outcome with it. Elvis was also successfully on the radio. Throughout Elvis’s performances, he sometimes used his guitar. Other performers such as Bill Haley and Chuck Berry also used the guitar which overall made the guitar be an instrument used to preform
