There is where they sold they’re first official character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit to a company in New York for $1,500 per short. Walt needed someone who can draw and paint the characters, he set out to hire someone for the job, he found Lillian Bounds, it was love at first sight people say, they were soon married and start an production company, so they can put Walt’s cartoons to sound and movement. Little did they know how big the company would get. Walt soon found out that almost all of his animators stole the rights to his Oswald the Lucky rabbit character. That sent Walt back to the drawings boards, there he created three brand new characters but one only stuck out to Walt and that was Mickey Mouse. Walt took that idea and ran with t, creating many silent and short films featuring Mickey in all of them. With success of the short films, Walt created a short film with sound; “Steamboat Willie” and that took America by storm. With much success from “Steamboat Willie,” Walt then decided to add some more characters to the mix. Born as Elvis Aaron Presley, as a child Elvis had a love of music, his parent was supportive of his love. At age 11, for his birthday, Elvis received his first guitar from his mother and he taught himself how to play and he began writing and performing songs. With the same guitar he went on to win a school talent show. With the drive to have a career in music, he had numerous jobs in the music industry. While working in a record shop, he made his first demo record, “That’s All Right” becoming Elvis’s first single. There was some hesitation when they were thinking about putting Elvis on the radio, due to him sounding black, the radio didn’t want the black community to think they were airing they’re music, making them think they had some type of freedom. Elvis’s fame then sky rocketed and he began having a tons of fans, the girls were attracted to his musical style but mainly his hips and his striking facial features. Fame came fast and quick to Elvis, if he wasn’t on the radio, he was on the TV or in some type of movie. In 1957, Elvis received his draft notice for the U.S. Army. Even being over seas for a year couldn’t calm his fame down. While in Germany, he bumped into a young girl name Priscilla Beaulieu. When they returned back to the States, they got married and had a baby. Yet Elvis’s fame hasn’t died down yet. Quickly the fame took its toll on the marriage and they ended up separating.
