Many of us have a desire in life to be remembered by all for something exceptional. It's a lofty objective that only few number of people have, or ever will achieve. Elvis Presley was one of the few people in our American history that achieved this position. Known as "The King of Rock and Roll", his achievements have changed our country and he still remains a inspiration and role model for many artists around the world.
Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8,1935 to Vernon Presley and Gladys Presley in Tupelo, Mississippi. Vernon Presley worked in a farm. Gladys was earning $2 dollars a day at the Tupelo Garment Company. They lived in a two -room house with their happy and healthy child Elvis Presley. This led to a turning point as he profoundly fell in love with his instrument. His love for gospel music influenced him in many ways and he slowly started building his career up after he graduated from Humes High.
Elvis Presley starts to begin his career at the Memphis Recording Service, home of the Sun label and started making demo records for two songs, "My Happiness" and "That's When Your Heartaches Begin" . As he pursuits singing, he continues to work as an apprentice electrician in different companies. He had difficulty starting his solo career. However, the owner of Sun Studio realized that Presley had real talent and decided to take the young performer under his wings. He became well-known in a short amount of time as he began touring and recording in the year of 1954.
In the year of 1954, he released his first single named "That's All Right". He slowly but surely climbed up his charts in 1955 by releasing his first No. 1 single with "Heartbreak Hotel”, and as well as his first No. 1 album, Elvis Presley. This led him to sign a movie contract with Paramount Pictures. In addition, he even became a popular guest on several television shows.
