Singer,Actor,King those are the three words that tell you who Elvis Presley is. Many people know that Elvis Presley was a singer,but did so much to contribute to the world. As a well known singer,and actor,Elvis Presley inspired society that they can be themselves and change if they feel it is wrong or change if they want to. He left a lasting legacy as the King of Rock’n’Roll and his music shook the world.
The early life of Elvis Presley was very rocky. Elvis Presley was born in the middle of the Great Depression and his parents, Vernon and Gladys Presley were very poor. A reporter heard the song and thought it tied in with the death of a man who killed himself. RCA wanted to recruit Presley to be a part of their company and Colonel Parker (Elvis’s Manager) took him in and managed what he did and his shows. His RCA single “Heartbreak Hotel” was a hit, fans (mostly girls) loved him,they loved the way he moved his leg on stage and his singing it was just amazing. Elvis Presley spent so much time in Hollywood his routine was from Hollywood and back to Memphis. Presley grew an increasing likeness of girls,he would go out with one and date another the next day. During his time in the Army, Elvis met a girl named Priscilla, who was 14 at the time and married Elvis in 1967. They had a daughter, who was named Lisa Marie Presley, who later on today, followed her father’s footsteps (Matthews 173). In October 1973,the divorce of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley happened. As you recall,Elvis’s mother died a sergeant of his gave him pills which were amphetamines, which caused heart and irrational problems,but Presley didn’t know that. The increasing of these pills for Presley benefitted his death. The sad death of Elvis Presley left thousands weeping for the great singer. Before his death, Elvis had a strong craving for fatty foods and fatty foods mixed with Presley’s diet with pills made a bad combination which was the cause of his death.
