Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was a well known poem creator who was born December 10, 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts. She had died on May 15th, 1886 at the age of fifty-five. Her parents were Emily Norcross Dickinson and Edward Dickinson. She lived a reclusive life and did not leave her home or visit other people very often. Emily Dickinson wrote hundreds of poems and most of her them are about death or of someone dying. She would always hide the poems that she made away from other people because she did not want any of them to be viewed by the public, but soon these poems would be seen by everyone. Her sister, Lavinia Dickinson, published all of her poems after she had died. She originally wrote the poem "The Bustle in the House" in 1866, but it was not published until around 1890. In the line "The Bustle in a House," it is explained that everyone is very busy with getting things ready for their deceased loved one. Funeral arrangements need to be made and people have to be told about the death. Also, people are grieving about the fact that they will never see that person again as long as they live. The line "The Morning after Death" explains how people are still not over the loss and they start to realize that the person is dead and is never coming back. Most people are still mourning the loss. Emily Dickinson explains in the line "Is solemnest of industries" and "Enacted upon Earth –" that death is one of the worse things someone can see happen. The pain over a death can very overwhelming for some people. There are even some people who will never get over the death of a loved one, whether that person died tragically or peacefully.
