Through the history of the world, there have been many influential people. These people impacted the world in a positive way by being a great influence to others, inspiring people to follow their dreams, and by doing great things that left a mark on the world. One individual that qualifies in all these categories: Laura Ingalls Wilder. Laura Ingalls Wilder is influential because of the her many accomplishments in life, her inspiring people to follow their dreams, and because of the people who taught her how to be herself. Laura Ingalls Wilder, a very bright woman, is influential because of her accomplishments.
Jane Addams was born September 6, 1860 in Cedarville, Illinois. She was the eighth of nine children, and her father was a rich industrialist. In her lifetime she was a pioneer and social worker in America, and received her Bachelor's degree from Rockford College for women. She was also a progressive hero because she helped the community become a better place by helping people in need. Addams enjoyed helping people, and her visit to the Toynbee Hall inspired her to create something similar to it.
Jane Addams was a fifth generation American, her mother’s roots ran back to a German immigrant who arrived in Philadelphia in 1727. John Huy Addams, her father at the age of 22, moved with his wife to Northern Illinois. Jane Addams birth in Cedarville September 6, 1860 came at one of the tensest periods of American history. Jane’s childhood was filled with men risking their lives in the duty of what they believed to be right. After an mundane education in the village school in Cedarville, Jane Addams aged seventeen thought about college.
Not only was she an abolitionist, but a women’s rights activist. Being separated from her family starting at an early age, she moved around farm to farm until she resided on the property of John Dumont at West Park, New York. This would probably be the starting point of her legacy. It was there were she first learned english, and met her first love with a slave from a neighboring farm. However their love story did not end happily, as they were forbidden to marry.

The differences and similarities that will be comparing the poems by will be the message, the poetry elements, and the tone of the poems. I felt a Funeral, in my Brain by Emily Dickinson is based on a narrtor who slowly loses her mind and in the process discrteves her funeral for sanity leaving her. All in all, Poe and Dickinson display a central idea of madness in both texts to develop and refine
The Crafts and Emily Dickinson’s sense of home seemed to deeply contrast after researching their backgrounds, and reading their biographies and poems. An overarching difference was their view on religion, which happened to be Christianity. It is noted in the podcast that the Crafts embraced the traditional view of Christianity. So much so, that it fueled their journey towards inevitable freedom.
Emily Dickinson was an original teenager who became a famous American poet in the 19th century. Her early impact involved the principal of Amherst Academy, Leonard Humphrey, and Benjamin Franklin Newton, who sent her a book of poetry. Throughout her life, she been writing poetry from ripped pieces of paper, to the back of an envelope. Overtime, she became very popular because of her leftover poetry that was handed over from her sister after her death. In two of her poems, she mentioned “sight”, which involves the vision she wished she’d had.

Although Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman were both romantic poets they interpreted society and death in two completely different ways.
The poem that stood out the most while reading this assortment of Emily Dickinson poems, was her poem numbered 656/520. This poem used imagery in numerous ways throughout in order to show the audience the important themes and the overall meaning of this work of literature. The poem’s main theme was about a walk on the beach that the poet encountered in the early morning. Although the poem is about a beach it can also give the audience contextual clues into other aspects of life.

Emily Dickinson was a very influential poet, because she was one of the first female poets, she aided in women’s movements, and she impacted on American literature. Emily was born and raised in Amherst, Massachusetts on December 10, 1830. She mostly stayed at home and rarely went out to explore the world.

Elizabeth Bishop was born on February 11, 1911, in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Being nobody is something that not many would desire, except perhaps Emily Dickinson. Emily Dickinson’s “I’m Nobody! Who are you?” is a satirical poem about the public sphere that she was not willing to conform to.
