“The truth is you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. Life is a crazy ride, and nothing is guaranteed.” That was one of Eminem’s most popular quotes. This quote applies to Eminem’s complicated childhood, as though things seemed bad, he ended up being one of the most recognizable vocalists. Eminem is most commonly seen by others as a normal rapper making it big, but in reality nothing came easy to him and Eminem is an example of success after failure. In the fall of 1997, Eminem’s first debut album, “Infinite” was released. Unfortunately, the album wasn’t a big hit and was received poorly by critics. Eminem’s next album debuted in May 23rd, 2000 under the title of The Marshal Mathers LP, and was met with huge success, with it being ranked as number one on US Album Chart that same month, as well as winning Best Rap Album at the Grammy’s. At this time, Eminem still wasn’t sure if he wanted to continue his music industry or find an new job. In this confusion, he stepped out of music for a while leaving fans confused and worried. Also during this time in 2005 - 2007, Eminem was going through another tough relationship with Kim. He proposed to Kim in 2005, then remarried on January 24, 2006, their 17th anniversary of when they started dating, then divorced again on December 19th, 2006.
