Emma Boag’s Interview: Early Start Kindergarten Program The Early Start kindergarten (ESK) program plays an essential role in ensuring all vulnerable children and families have access to high quality Early Childhood Education. It provides eligible three-year-old children with access to free or low cost kindergarten program that is offered by a qualified teacher (Department of Education and Training, 2018). Emma Boag believed that the Early Start Kindergarten program makes a better future for children who are vulnerable and is beneficial in assisting them to transit from kindergarten to school program (Monash University, 2018). Early participation in quality education can improve the lifelong social, learning and development outcomes for children

Because of his traumatic childhood, the boy has displayed some very aggressive behaviors in the kindergarten to both educators and other children. However, for other children’s parents, they do not see the complex issues happening on that children and the educators had received complaints about the boys’ aggressive behaviors to other children. The Code of Ethics mentioned that in relation to children’s families, educators are to respect families’ right to privacy and maintain confidentiality (Early childhood Australia, 2016). Out of the protection of the boy’s and his families’ privacy, educators could not disclose any information in regard to the boy’s family situations to other families. This could pose a great challenge to the educator when facing the complaints from other parents, as they are expected to take appropriate action when responding to parents’ concerns (Victorian Institute of Teaching, 2016). Emma suggested that what she did was to work very hard to include the boy in the teaching practice and tried to let other families in the community to see the positive changes in that
