She charges customers one-quarter of the price as other people do. " This means that Nora stands up for Central Americans by helping them with thier paperwork to become a Mexican Citzen. Nora charges less then others well because she have been in the same place before and understands the struggle of being a Central American.

According to Gregoria Morales and Jorge Rojas, which are immigrants state, "The immigration office only gives applicants a list of required documents but does not advise them on how to fulfill the requirements.

No one ever understood Esperanza Cordero and what she experienced this in The House on Mango Street after all the negativity growing up she has matured into a young women. For this reason, The House on Mango Street is more of a coming of age story then The Catcher in the Rye because, at this point Holden hasn’t matured at all. Esperanza was racially discriminated as a child. Also, Holden hasn’t grown up or has seem to wanna grow up.

Emma is one of those girls who is very popular at school and cares about her friends and family, but doesn’t care about much else. She is a really nice sister, but she can get to be a pain sometimes. Emma is actually a decent student though, no matter what people think about the “popular group” of kids at school, Emma is part of them and still a good student. She normally gets Bs and B+s for grades, and listens and learns when necessary. Did I mention that she can be a pain?
