When Patrick and Mary Cushing had their baby boy Richard on the 24th day of August in 1895, the Irish Immigrants probably didn’t expect him to become a difference maker in the Roman Catholic Church. They especially didn’t expect their baby boy to officiate the marriage of the future president of the United States. The Cushing family who once lived in Ireland soon moved their lives and lived in the South Side of Boston. In their family of seven, it was found common to attend grammar school as well as high school. However, the only family member to drop out of high school was Richard.
The Irish Way is a historical non-fiction book written by James Barrett. This book is about Irish immigrants and their journey towards Americanization and assimilation upon their arrival to the United States. It also shows the impacts of their influence on many major American cities, as well as on immigrants of different ethnicities. Barrett’s purpose for this work is to show the lives of multiple generations of Irish Catholic Americans. In addition, he wanted to expand on the relationships that they had with other ethnic groups and how this created a long standing multiethnic identity.
Stonecreek is a public middle school in the Panama Buena Vista School District, where we say, “En loco parentis”, Latin for, “In the place of the parents”. In other words, we will look after your child as if it were our own child, for the whole school day. Many believe it is impossible, with over 200 children at our school, however, what those people don’t believe, is that we have been doing this for over 8 years, and we still have taken good care of them for all these years. We rarely receive any problems with our students, and if we do, we take whatever precaution we find necessary. If you wish to hear the rules we have, and the precautions we are willing to take, meet us in our office at 8000 Akers Rd, Bakersfield, from 8:25 a.m. to 3:25

So she takes us to the opposite side of Malvern and dropped us off at Bryce’s mom’s house on Louisiana st.
Irish integration to America was a very important part of the immigration history of this nation. James R. Barrett, professor at the University of Illinois, writes The Irish Way: Becoming American in the Multiethnic City, an account of the story of second and third generation Irish immigrants whose experiences in America changed their lives in more ways than they could have imagined. The book primarily focused on the social history through; their shaky relationship with African Americans, politics and “The Machine”, religious opposition from other immigrants, and their strife in the workplace. Thoroughly developed with illustrations and facts, this book provides new insight into the topic of “Americanization” among immigrants coming to our nation.

Background My mother’s side of my family immigrated to the United States from England.
My first name Nathan ranks thirty-eighth in the United States and thirteenth in Canada, but that is low in relation to crowning my first name to be the most popular in France (Campbell). I would have certainly not known my name to be so popular in a different country. Since I was born, I have been alien to knowledge of how I came to have my name, how popular it was, and what it meant because of accepting it without any thought. I never thought about how much my name represents who I am and how much it affects me. I wanted to figure out where my name came from; therefore, I found primary research useful by interviewing my mother about family surname history.
