Emotion In Disney Pixar's Inside Out

A thought-provoking social science is psychology that many of us are interested in but cannot quite understand as it has several difficult parts. One of these parts is the concept of emotion, which can be explained minimally, but efficiently, in Disney Pixars Inside Out. This film illustrates 5 of the 6 sceintifically confirmed emotions as personas Joy Sadness Fear Disgust and Anger in the mind of a character named Riley. Like most in the real world, Joy along with the other emotions, believes she is the most important and that Sadness is bad, so the personas try their best to make Riley’s memories full of happiness and nothing else. Joy, Sadness, Riley’s core memories -- they all get lost from Headquarters into Long Term Memory. This leaves only Fear, Disgust, and Agner to control daily life without happiness. Towards the end of the film, Joy realizes that Sadness, and every other emotion, is important in maintaining Riley’s emotional stability. In the film Inside Out, Joy’s trouble realizing the importance of Sadness, later revealing the theme that every emotion has a purpose, and that there all meant to work consecutively to create emotional balance. ... …show more content…
