Death of a Salesmen is a play that was later turned into a movie. The play was written by Arthur Miller and the movie was directed by Volker Schlöndorff. There are many characters in the play but the three that stood out to me the most were Biff, Willy, and Linda. All these actors presented their character very well in the film. Biff is portrayed by John Malkovich. John uses his voice to add emotion to the scenes he is in. He lowers his voice and makes it louder when it is needed. An example of this is when Biff yells at Willy to stop treating his mother bad. John uses his body and facial expressions to express the emotions of Biff as well. In the scene when Biff finds his dad with the other women John uses his face and body to express how upset Biff really is. He sinks to the floor and cries because he is so upset. John did not have many lines to say, but he still acted out that scene the best. …show more content…

Dustin uses his voice to portray Willy’s emotions throughout the play. Willy talks to himself a lot in the play Dustin makes it sound like he is talking to someone even though he has no other actor to assist him in providing the emotion for the scene. Dustin uses his body language to express Willy’s emotions and character. Willy is a tired, worn out old man and Dustin plays his part believably by walking around like Willy would and mumbling through some of his lines. Dustin’s best scene must be when Willy gets fired from his job. There is so much emotion and heartbreak in that scene and Dustin captures it very
