They are celebrities still alive today, that nearly everyone has heard about at least once. Some of them even have a wide fan base, with people who love them around the globe. However, it 's not well heard of that any of them are a sovereign ruler of great power and rank. Also known as an Emperor. Sometimes, people weren 't as kind about his title. A man in attempt of sarcasm of a sort went to him after a situation had arose about Mexico. He asked his highness if he was also the protector of Mexico. Emperor Norton embraced this claim, and took it on as his title. Joshua Norton, Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico. However, he soon retacked this claim due to the obscene events happening in Mexico. He even stated "It is impossible to protect such an unsettled nation." And thus resorted back to just being Emperor Norton of the United States of America. The other incident was when he was arrested for lunacy in 1867. A new officer mistook his majesty for a crazy man, and brought him to court because of it. The court overlooked the claims, and deemed him innocent for in their eyes, he hadn 't done any harm, and people enjoyed it. So he was set free, with an apology from the officer for attempting near mutany against the Emperor. Generally, people really admired their Emperor. There were even characters based off him in plays and the like. As Emperor, Sir Norton had a lot of duties in his lifetime, though most self appointed. He made decrees, and though he never truly had any jurisdiction, the lot of his decrees were logical, and sometimes even influenced people of actual positions of
