Written Assignment: Encanto In the Disney movie, Encanto, there is a huge family, most of whom are blessed with gifts that make them special. For this paper, I will be evaluating one of the family members, Antonio Madrigal, based on the Six Core Virtues and the Big Five Personality Traits, to give them a personality assessment. The first part of the personality assessment will look at the Six Core Virtues. These are a set of aspects of the human experience that help people thrive and be successful. The Six Core Virtues are Courage, Justice, Humanity, Temperance, Wisdom, and Transcendence.
Courage is defined as the emotional strength involved in the exercise of one’s will. Some of the …show more content…

Justice is compiled of attributes such as fairness, leadership, and teamwork. One example of justice from Antonio was when he helped Bruno and Mirabel during a crisis. Antonio’s family needed help via a place to perform a vision ritual. He gave them his room, as an act of teamwork.
Humanity, often referred to as compassion, is in reference to strengths that involve taking care of and protecting others. Traits that fall under humanity are love and kindness. Antonio expresses humility when he offers Bruno his cheetah stuffed animal before he performed a vision ritual for the first time in years. This example is one of kindness and compassion.

Transcendence includes the aspects: gratitude, hope, and spirituality. I don’t believe Antonio expressed any transcendence. While he was thankful for his family, I don't think it related to a larger universe and I don't think it was a particularly important characteristic of his character.
The second part of the personality assessment looks at the Big Five Personality Traits. These traits are ones that cover the majority of a person’s personality and aspects of a human’s experience. These features often correlate to people’s future success and happiness. The Big Five Personality Traits are referred to as OCEAN: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism.
Openness includes characteristics such as imagination, feelings, actions, and ideas. Someone with a low score in openness would be more practical and favor routines while someone with a high score would be more likely to have many interests and be independent. I believe that Antonio would have a higher score of openness as he was open to anything his power would be. He also seems to be an independent child, maybe more than the average
