Enders Game by Orson Scott Cars is about a boy named Andrew "Ender" Wiggins. Ender is the youngest of three Genius Children in his family, and both Peter and Valentine have worn the same monitor that Ender wore. Though neither had the monitor for as long, and neither were selected to battle school. Battle School is the Military Run training facility the trains soldiers from the time they are children to be efficient and effective soldier for the international fleet. Enders success in being selected to train at battle school angers Peter, and upsets loving Valentine.
Ender then sets out on a journey to find a new home for the buggers where they can live in peace. The detail within the book, along with the greater influence placed on characters other than Ender within it, make the novel better than the movie. Three of the most important points in Ender’s game are how Ender was selected for battle school, how he overcame each challenge he faced as he tried to be moved up to command school, and how he tried to make things right at the end of the story with the bugger species. Ender’s parents were selected to have a third child, something that was not permitted by the government.
Ender’s sister keeps him from getting bullied by his older brother, and she protects Ender whenever she can. Ender keeps going through his training so he can go back and see her. He doesn’t receive any letters from her and thinks she has forgotten about him. The next time Ender sees Valentine, he is tired of fighting and wants to stop. This is when Valentine says, “We play by their rules long enough, and it becomes our game."
Ender’s Game is a book about Ender (Real name Andrew) Wiggin. Ender is a third (not allowed at the time unless the government allows it.) he went to battle school when he was 6 years old he bounced for army to army until he got his own army the dragon army. When he was too good for battle school he was moved to command school where he and his friends are tricked into killing the buggers.
This chapter is built upon the relationships between the siblings as well as the role Graff plays within Ender’s life. The computer situation, which Graff tells Valentine about opens her eyes to the fact that there is much of Peter in her as there is in Ender, an example being Valentine and Peter working hand in hand for power. Valentine and Peter’s actions working to spread ideas in hope of rebellion demonstrate that the Wiggins will both have power in space as well as land (Earth). Although the duo has not yet started to rapidly spread their influence, it seems clear that Peter will get what he wants due to the fact that his intellect is matched only by his ambition, to which he will use to manipulate almost anyone. In the book “Ender’s Game,” Ender, the book’s protagonist is the hero of the story. Many of the characters in and out of the book and at times even Ender himself had viewed him as a villain. This is due to the fact that Ender on occasion displayed merciless aggression towards others, despite good intentions. Many of the characters in the book felt inferior to Ender because he was constantly getting singled out because of his mental acuity. Ender was a hero because he always acted in self defense, and always did more good than bad.
In the classic novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, Andrew “Ender” Wiggin is a young man who lives in a futuristic world where hostile extraterrestrial beings known as “buggers” have attacked Earth twice, and they almost wiped out mankind in the Second Invasion. The International Fleet (I.F.) plans to attack the bugger world a third time to wipe them out for good, and they take Ender at the young age of 6 to a space station called Battle School to prepare him and other children to possibly graduate to Command School and fight the buggers. Throughout the novel, Card develops Ender’s character traits using influences from other characters, plot development, and Ender changing as he grows older. At the beginning of the story, Ender is 6 years old and wears a small device on his neck, monitoring his behavior to find out whether he is what they need to fight the buggers.
Throughout most of the book, Ender uses Valentine as a way of coping with the constant changes in his life and keeping himself motivated. This is proved on page 43, when Ender says, “I will not be the bugger of my group, -I didn 't leave Valentine, and Mother, and Father to come here just to be iced”. Ender uses Valentine, and his family in order to comfort himself. Ender also uses his family, including his brother Peter, to keep himself from having an emotional breakdown. This means that by comparing himself to Peter or thinking of Valentine, Ender keeps himself from turning into someone who is just a killer, rather than a strategic and wise player of the games that his Battle School are using to try to break him down.
Though each member of the family testified that they never believed him dead for a moment, the stress of the possibility weighed on them constantly. Comparably, the last time Ender ever saw his parents was at the age of six, at which point he was flown off to Battle School. After training for years there, he was a very different person, and was most likely barely recognizable to his parents. His older sister, Valentine, was the only member of the family permitted to see Ender when he went back to Earth for a short period of time. After winning the war, his parents were notified that it was, in fact, their son who had saved the planet from utter destruction by the Buggers, but whether it was was the son they had raised or one who had been hardened by the stress of competitive schooling was unclear.
Books are the ideal way to introduce a reader to the many morals of the human society. In the novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, Ender, is drafted by the international fleet to lead multiple fleets of ships in combat against an alien species, but he does not realize that he was drafted for that purpose. Ender is sent to Battle School, where he becomes a true archetypal leader, and he gains many valuable friends that help him along the way. At a hidden asteroid, Ender begins what he believes are simulations, but really is the Third Invasion.

While Graff is speaking with someone in higher military command, he insists Ender remains isolated so he can thinks he can only help his self. Graff ends the conversation implying that Ender may have friends, but no parents. Isolation for Ender is unpleasant, and tries not to focus on the agony by counting powers of two. Ender goes to the game room, however he is quickly bored by most of the games. In the meantime, Ender challenges an older boy to play a game best two out of three, in which, Ender beats him by winning two games, ultimately shocking the other elder kids.
Though Valentine’s actual motive for attempting to make contact with his ticklish knee was to console him, Ender considered it an act of peril, judging Valentine’s intention as harm to him. As an unintended consequence, Valentine’s perception of Ender has significantly modified for the worse. “A very small, fragile boy who needed her protection. Not this cold-eyed, dark-skinned manling who kills wasps with his fingers.” Ender’s colossal character change essentially reveals what Card inevitably understood he would become: a clone of Peter’s daunting characteristics.
His compassion is proven many times, and one of them is the fact that he hates that he feels just like Peter. If Ender had no compassion, why would he have regretted acting like Peter? Ender is also very sympathetic to Bean (even though Ender tries not to show it) and Ender would see himself in Bean, how small and young Bean is but still so determined. Ender initially realizes that he is isolating Bean because Ender himself was once isolated and he wants to force Bean to flourish like Ender did. Ender also has so much empathy that he would think like the buggers, and could understand and anticipate them.
In a world where an alien species, called the Buggers, are an everyday impending doom, Orson Scott Card has created two stories in which the reader follows two different, young boy’s journeys through Battle School and beyond. While the main character in Ender’s Game, Ender, grew up in a nice house in the city, the main character in Ender’s Shadow, Bean, grew up on the streets and starved before being brought to Battle School. While Ender, otherwise known as Andrew Wiggin, has a family with a brother and sister, he was a “third”. A “third” child is usually against the government’s rules, but with a special waver, Ender was able to be conceived. Which is a cause for bullying early in the book Ender’s Game.
