From the start of English 102 in January to the end of the semester, my writing and knowledge of English has progressed extensively. At the beginning of the semester, I was not very excited about having to take a second English course. Not only has my attitude changed towards writing, but my writing itself has changed, and now I feel like I can write whatever I want. I did have challenges throughout the semester, such as struggling with my citations, but now instead of writing to make a grade, I let my words flow without forcing them. Also, I have been able to develop skills that I will use in a future career in politics and law, like researching and argumentative attitudes towards specific topics. It was interesting to build on a single topic throughout the semester, and throughout the process, my way of relaying information greatly improved. From the start of the semester to now, my attitude towards writing has completely changed. I never thought that I had issues with writing, but after realizing how much I learned about technical issues like citations and revision, I now realize I overcame a lot of obstacles I was unaware of. I also utilized having to write and research a single topic so much by gaining new argumentative skills that will help me in my future career. In the future, I will take advantage of knowing how to properly research and give myself time to come up with thoughts and facts to back up my opinions. I will challenge myself to learn as much as I can about a topic and do my best to continue growing as a writer. Because I have grown so much as a writer this semester, writing became more enjoyable to me again, and I will continue to write and develop my writing skills. In the end, though I was not excited about taking English 102, it has helped me in more ways than I thought I needed and I will carry my new skills with me into the professional
