English Reflective Essay

This semester in English 1100, College Composition 1, I have learned a lot. At the beginning of this semester, I had set my mind that I was certainly going to achieve and learn a lot. During the start of the semester, I had several difficulties writing the English essay assignments especially in terms of expanding, grammar, and picking good enough topics. I have not had an English class since junior year of high school and that was about 3 and a half years ago. During the first week of the semester I sat down, prepared my thoughts and understood that throughout the semester I had to achieve all that I had planned for this semester. The narrative was kind of an hard assignment for me. In all my past experience with writing, I have never really been good at writing narrative essays. This assignment was difficult at first mainly because I was not really sure what to write or even how to begin writing a narrative. What made it easier for me to write the narrative was going through the writing process step by step. I sat down for a bit and just stared at the wall and then eventually came up with an idea focusing on a specific purpose and a specific group of people to write to. Once I determined what I would write about, I began the brainstorming process, followed by a rough draft, and then a solid final draft. At the beginning of my paper it was not too bad. My real issue started when I began trying to turn the short letter I wrote to my younger brother into a full essay. It was very difficult for me to elaborate without adding to much unnecessary things to the essay. After a considerable amount of time attempting to tweak and expand on that first essay, I finally understood and began to add more description and details, which helped me complete the
