Epic Hero An Epic Hero is a person who that has superhuman strength, courage and is intelligent. At times their life even ends tragically. In the story “The Trojan War” by Edith Hamilton there is two men who are made out to be epic heroes Hector and Achilles, but only one of them can be the real epic hero. They were both courages and brave, but Achilles was the Epic Hero. It was known to both of them that they were going to die, Hector the greatest of the Trojans and Achilles the champion of the Greeks, but Achilles had an advantage, he was immortal due to when his mother dipped him in the Styx, the river of the Underworld. She held him by his feet, which left his heels vulnerable. Even though hector was mortal he was as well a great warrior.
