Epic Systems Expansion into Canada: Planning for Operations Enhancing the digital technology infrastructure for the healthcare industry across Canada is something that Epic Systems can achieve with the collaboration of healthcare organizations across the province. The expectation is that the new system will simplify healthcare workers' access to patients' medical records and significantly diminish the amount of paperwork and administrative duties throughout the network. Although Epic is the leader in the industry, it may not necessarily be the best option for every hospital or medical facility. Other well-known competitors include Athenahealth, Cerner Ambulatory, DrChrono, and eClinicalWorks. Cerner Ambulatory is the main competitor to Epic and is known to be more user-friendly. (Arora, 2023) Organizational Structure The organizational structure of Epic Systems starts with the CEO & Founder, Judith R. Faulkner, then flows down to the leadership team, made up of 12 individuals, and the Executive team, which includes the CEO and 5 members. The Epic leadership and executive team brings together a breadth of experience across various industries, encompassing healthcare and business. Furthermore, they possess diverse educational backgrounds, from business studies to international relations. As we focus on the expansion into Ontario, Canada, we will continue with the same organizational structure we have in place, as this has been effective for our organization for many years.
