1. Erickson’s crisis of early childhood involves initiative versus guilt. Children now learned they are a person of their own doing, and are discovering what kind of person they are becoming. Young children begin to use initiative and explore, but that enthusiasm brings them rearward and also guilt. If not handled correctly that feeling of guilt, in young children, can lower self-esteem.
2. Many young children self-descriptions are typically unrealistically positive. This occurs because they do not engage in spontaneous social comparison of their abilities with others, and they do compare their present abilities what they could or could not do at an earlier age. This comparison makes them feel good about what they’re learning and doing.

Parents play an important role in helping young children regulate their emotions. Emotion coaching parents monitor their children’s omissions, and view their children’s negative emotions as opportunities to teach. These parents teach their child how to deal with their emotions in any situation. The emotion dismissing parents deny, ignore, or try to change the child’s negative emotion. They do not address the negative emotion.
5. Around the age of 4 to7 years old children go through the moral development stage of heteronomous mortality. These children believe that rules are unchangeable, and if a rule is broken punishment will be handed out immediately. An example of this is suggesting to a young child new rules for game of marbles; the child’s first instinct is to resist the change in the rules.
6. The two main classes of sex hormones are estrogen androgens. Estrogen influences the development of female physical sex characteristics, and is secreted by the ovaries. Androgens are responsible for development of male physical sex characteristics, and are excreted in the
