Ernest Miller Hemingway was born on July 21st, in 1899. While Hemingway was in high school, he wrote for his school's newspaper called the Trapeze and Tabula, where he mostly wrote about sports. After he had graduated, he had started to work for the Kansas City Store in hopes of strengthening his journalist skill. This is what had helped him develop his prose style of writing. In 1918, Hemingway had went overseas to be an ambulance driver in the Italian Army in World War I. However, he had sustained injuries and was sent to a hospital in Milan. It was there where he met his first love, which was a nurse named Agnes von Kurowsky. Hemingway then met Hadley Richardson in Chicago, and they were quickly married and moved to Paris, where he had become a foreign correspondent for the Star. In 1923, Hemingway and Hadley had a son named John Hadley Nicanor Hemingway, and by this time Ernest had been frequenting the famously known Festival of San Fermin in Pamplona, Spain. Soon Hemingway and his small family started to go to the festival, and this had sparked inspiration for his novel The Sun Also Rises. Sadly, Hemingway and Hadley had divorces after he had an affair with a woman (who soon became Ernest's second wife) by the name of Pauline Pfeiffer, and he had went on to write another story for his short stories collection titled Men Without Women. Pauline had then gotten pregnant and the couple moved to America, and in 1928 their son Patrick was born. The small family had settled in Key West, Florida, but were then summered in Wyoming.
