An immense amount of immigrants have been having issues adapting to the U.S. ways of living. Many immigrants have been coming over to the U.S. from their foreign countries. Problems such as employment, healthcare, housing, and cultural issues have been a real struggle for them. Adapting to U.S. culture is the hardest part of immigration. Immigrants come from many countries, so this means they speak different languages. Learning to speak English is very difficult to do. If the immigrants can’t speak English, it is nearly impossible to communicate, unless you have a translator. Using the internet helps immigrants with communication. Although, there is one issue with this method. When immigrants arrive, they don’t have computers or enough money to buy computers. Immigrants have issues finding job facilities to work at because they don’t really have degrees in majors that provide enough money for them to live on. Jobs that they can get don’t pay as much as other jobs for people with higher degrees. Santiago, a worker who came from El Salvador, said, “ I worry about myself because I came here without any papers, and that is just one of my problems because without papers I cannot have a better and permanent job.” Santiago’s last name was not given, but what he said does prove that immigrants have issues finding jobs and getting payed enough. In the immigrant’s home countries, they might have had a higher position and were paid more. Jobs are different in America.There are centers in most cities that are designed to help immigrants to get jobs. Also, they can help make sure that qualifications are converted.
