Ever since I was a little girl, I remember looking at old pictures of my aunt in her Purdue University sweatshirt and wanting to go there to be just like her. My mom and dad never went to college so she was my inspiration to go once I was all grown up. Now here I am almost done with the first semester of my senior year. As of last year, I was not quite sure on what I wanted to do with my life after high school. And I was not even sure that I wanted to go to Purdue main campus anymore. But it was the only school I had ever thought about; I had not even looked at any other school. I knew I wanted to be able to stay in Indiana so I could stay close to my mom and be able to come home on the weekends. I didn't want to venture anywhere too far. My tour guide was so enthusiastic about IUPUI and made me even more excited to make the choice on attending the school. She informed me about all the activities, groups, clubs, and even the food that was all around for us to be involved; from Quidditch club to intramural softball, to dogs in the library during finals week to her favorite ice cream shop down the road. And I realized how many opportunities that IUPUI had to offer for me. I loved the fact of being so close to downtown Indianapolis. Growing up in nothing but corn fields and having to drive thirty-minutes to the nearest mall really makes a person appreciate the city life more. Indianapolis also happens to be only an hour and a half to a two hour drive from home. And less than twenty minutes away, I can visit my aunt who had inspired me to go to college. I have decided to attend IUPUI in order to get the best of both universities while achieving the undergraduate degree that I
