One out of three people will be involved in an alcohol related crash in their lifetime. I have been researching this topic for 3-4 weeks, and I have found many causes and effects on what happens when you drink and drive. Have you ever been in an alcohol related car crash? I have not been in a alcohol related car crash, but my relatives have been in one. Alcohol remains the favorite drug for people under the age of 20. I will tell you about drunk driving statistics, what would cause you to drink while driving, and the cost of drunk driving. Your friends could force you to drink and drive under the pressure. Family problems could cause you to drink while driving. Your family or relatives could be in situations where you felt like you needed to drink. A curfew could also cause you to drink and drive. If you were at a party and you had to be home at a certain time, then that could cause you to rush back home if you had been drinking or not. If you drink while driving for different reasons you could most likely get someone really bad hurt. Many people say “ What is the harm, got home safely and no one was hurt?”(drinking while driving). If you think that it is still ok to drink and drive it is not. Even if no one was hurt it is still illegal. One of the average drunk drivers have driven drunk about 87 times before the first arrest. Drunk drivers are not only in cars or trucks but on motorcycles too. Motorcycle riders are twice as likely to be driving while drunk ant the wheel than the car drivers. They also drink while driving, which is even more dangerous than in a car. Every day, 30 people in the United States die in motorcycle crashes that involve an alcohol driver.
