People are celebrating more than the beginning of a new year." January 1 marks the birth of a new century and a new millennium" (Lehrer, 1999). In the beginning of our new year we celebrate with our family, friends and relatives. According to Xiaong et al. (2002) New Year is really not a holiday, but a celebration of the coming of the New Year. This research aim to provide insight for the superstitious belief of the Filipino. One of this belief that we practiced is to putting some coins inside the pocket for the luck. Coins have a long history events that make a good luck. That is why we tend to have this kind of tradition for the purpose that we have a good luck not for the bad luck and unlucky events. We really believe the bad luck for that is why we should be do something good luck for our year. The lucky events is very attractive to us. Through the use of coins it lead to us to ward off the bad luck of the year. There are mostly believe that many objects, numbers, symbols and gems are good luck. Signs and symbols that we believed to be lucky in our life. Many good lucks comes to many symbols and shapes. According to Day et al. (2003)" belief in luck has traditionally had two psychological explanations within the literature"." The first explanation approaches luck as an external, unstable factor within social events" (Rotten 1955; Weiner et al., 1972)."Here, belief in luck is perceived as uncontrollable, having little influence on future expectations "(Darke & Freedman, 1997b).
