Police brutality is a issue that’s very important in America and it’s happening in many different states all over the country. It shouldn’t be happening at all, and in order to fix this, we have to start somewhere. The American system of government can solve these type of problems with requiring more training hours inside of every police station, and they should be interested in it because this is causing many different conversations throughout the country. This is a very good topic to study and research because it’s interesting to learn about. They should have a minimum of 1,000 hours, with an additional requirement of a minimum of 200 hours of apprenticeship. Even though it’s still less than cosmetologists, it definitely is an upgrade from the requirement we have now. Shaun King from New York daily news and The Institute for Criminal Justice Training Reform both think that this is a good solution to the problem, as they both have similar solutions to mine. However, David Griffith from Police Magazine says that police shouldn’t have required hours, because some officers learn at different rates. He says that an officer shouldn’t have to learn something longer than what they need to. () The advantages of this solution is that police would be provided with more training than what they have now, and have experience as an apprentice so they really know how to handle certain situations. This will help to prevent further situations from happening, by given them more knowledge and experience in the field. However, if this practice was put into place, then many police officers would be unqualified and therefore would need more training. This may cost police more money to go back to school, and we still have to be able to keep the city
